Neretva Coffee Grinders

A burr grinder cuts beans to an even size; a blade grinder smashes them into dust and boulders at once. Ours is conical burr, with 30 click settings from espresso fine to French press coarse.

The grinder is the part of an espresso setup people upgrade second and wish they had bought first. Uneven grounds mean water finds the easy path, and the shot runs pale and sour on one side of the basket while the rest is still packed. Conical burrs keep the particle size consistent, which is what lets a 20 bar pump behave the way its number promises.

Thirty settings sound like more than anyone needs until the first bag of a new bean arrives and the old setting runs three seconds fast. A cradle holds the portafilter under the spout so the dose lands where it belongs, and an electronic timer repeats the same dose without a scale.
